From 8 January 2026, the app will officially stop working in Singapore.
This isn’t sudden though. Most of its functions have already moved into the SimplyGo app, and the transition has been happening quietly since last year.
Honestly speaking, this is more of a clean-up than a shock.
Why Is the EZ-Link App Being Terminated?
The move is part of a plan to bring all transit and travel card services into one place.
Since September 2024, every key feature in the EZ-Link app has already been built into SimplyGo.
From 10 December 2025, the EZ-Link app started being phased out.
By 8 January 2026, it will be fully discontinued.
For most Singaporeans, this just means one app instead of two.

What You Need to Do Before Jan 8, 2026
If you already have an EZ-Link account, the process is simple.
- Download the SimplyGo app
- Log in using your existing EZ-Link account details
- Complete a one-time account synchronisation
That’s it.
Your profile, cards, and settings will be transferred automatically.
No need to create a new account.
What Happens If You Don’t Sync?
Don’t worry — your account won’t be deleted.
If you don’t sync your EZ-Link account:
- Your account will be marked as dormant
- You can still recover it later by syncing to SimplyGo
- But you may temporarily lose access to app-based features
Still, better to do it early and avoid last-minute stress.
What Can You Do on the SimplyGo App?
Once synced, SimplyGo becomes your all-in-one travel companion.
You can:
- Top up EZ-Link and other supported travel cards
- Track public transport fares and trips
- Pay locally and overseas using Mastercard
- Use SGQR via the EZ-Link wallet
No need to overthink — it’s meant to replace everything the old app did.
