Unused SkillsFuture, CDC and ActiveSG vouchers may expire soon. Check deadlines

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Several government vouchers and credits will expire soon if unused.
  • Up to S$1,400 per household could go to waste if missed.
  • Most schemes can be claimed in minutes using Singpass.

End of the year in Singapore usually means clearing leave, clearing pantry snacks — and now, clearing unused government vouchers.

If you haven’t checked your SkillsFuture credits, CDC vouchers, or ActiveSG balance recently, you might be sitting on hundreds of dollars that will disappear after 31 December 2025. No reminders, no extensions.

Budget 2025 introduced multiple support schemes, but many Singaporeans still don’t realise some require action before the year ends. Everything is accessed via Singpass, but each scheme has different rules and expiry dates.

To make things simple, here’s exactly what you must use now — and what can safely wait.

Vouchers You Must Use or Activate Before 31 December 2025

SkillsFuture Credit (2020 One-Off Top-Up) — S$500

This is the one many people forget. The S$500 SkillsFuture credit given in 2020 is not permanent. If you don’t use it by 31 December 2025, it’s gone for good.

You can stack it on top of existing subsidies for courses like data analytics, cybersecurity, leadership training, or even part-time diplomas. Honestly speaking, even one short course can fully utilise it.

Who qualifies: Singaporeans aged 25 and above as of 2020

ActiveSG Credits — S$100

These credits cover gym entries, swimming pools, and selected fitness programmes. The key thing here is activation.

If you don’t claim the credits by 31 December 2025, you lose them. Once claimed, they automatically extend to 31 December 2026 — and can even roll into 2027 if you make at least one transaction in 2026 (yes, even free bookings count).

CDC Vouchers (2025) — S$800 Per Household

Most households received S$300 in January 2025 and S$500 in May 2025. These vouchers work at hawker centres, wet markets, heartland shops, and supermarkets displaying the CDC decal.

If you haven’t spent them, don’t overthink. Groceries, kopi, cai png — all count.

Unused vouchers expire after 31 December 2025.

Vouchers That Can Wait (No Rush Yet)

SG60 Vouchers — S$600 to S$800

Singapore citizens aged 21–59 in 2025 received S$600, while those 60 and above received S$800. These work exactly like CDC vouchers and are valid at the same merchants.

Good news: they only expire on 31 December 2026.

SG Culture Pass — S$100

These credits are meant for local arts, theatre, museums, and heritage programmes listed on the official platform. The key thing is that the event date, not booking date, must be on or before 31 December 2028.

Plenty of time, but still worth checking what’s available.

Climate Vouchers — S$400

Issued in two phases — S$300 in April 2024 and S$100 in April 2025 — these vouchers help offset the cost of energy- and water-efficient household products.

They’re accepted at more than 150 retailers across 500+ outlets, including major appliance chains.

Expiry: 31 December 2027

So… What Should You Do This Week?

For most Singaporeans, the priority is simple:

  • Check your SkillsFuture balance
  • Claim ActiveSG credits
  • Spend CDC vouchers before year-end groceries get expensive

It takes less than 5 minutes with Singpass, and you could save hundreds of dollars without changing your routine.

Free money sitting there and expiring is the worst kind to miss.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to activate CDC vouchers or are they automatic?

You need to claim them once via Singpass. After that, they’re ready to use by scanning the QR code at participating merchants.

Can I transfer my SkillsFuture credits to family members?

No. SkillsFuture credits are non-transferable and can only be used by the individual account holder.

What happens if I forget to claim ActiveSG credits?

If you don’t claim them by 31 December 2025, the S$100 will be forfeited. There are no extensions.
